Liege Style Waffles
Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
¼ ounce package yeast
¼ teaspoon vanilla powder
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
1/3 cup warm water
1 cup melted butter
3 eggs
1 cup pearl sugar
Method:
1. Place the flour, yeast, vanilla powder and salt into an electric stand mixer with the dough hook attachment and mix on low speed for 1 minute.
2. With the mixer on low, add the warm water and mix for 2 minutes.
3. Slowly add the melted butter, with the mixer still on, and mix until the butter has fully incorporated into the dough.
4. Finally add the eggs and mix until the dough has an even texture.
5. Turn off the mixer and let the dough rest until it has doubled in size.
6. Now add the pearl sugar and mix for 2 minutes until the pearl sugar is evenly distributed.
7. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes. While the dough is resting preheat a Belgian waffle maker.
8. Pour a portion of the dough into the preheated waffle maker and cook for 3-5 minutes. Use a fork to remove the waffle, the melted sugar will be very hot.
